Statistical Abbreviations:
IP - Innings Pitched. Each out is a third of an inning. Thirds of innings
are designated by .1
W - Wins. Defined as who the pitcher was at the earliest time we were
winning when we did not lose the lead.
L - Losses. Defined as who the pitcher was at the easliest time we were
losing when we did not regain the lead.
S - Saves. Pitching the final inning of a game we win in which the pitcher
enters the inning with a 3 run lead or less.
R - Runs. Number of runs that were charged to you.
K - Strikeouts. Number of batters that you struck out
H - Hits. Number of hits you have allowed.
BB - Base on Balls. Number of walks you have issued.
K/9 - Strikeouts per 9 innings. Number of batters you would strike out
in a 9-inning game at your current strikeout rate.
H/9 - Hits per 9 innings. Number of hits you would allow in a 9-inning
game at your current hits allowed rate.
BB/9 - Walks per 9 innings. Number of walks you would allow in a 9-inning
game at your current walks allowed rate.
R/INN - Number of runs allowed, on average, per inning.
WHIP - Walks + Hits divided by Innings Pitched. An indication of the
number of baserunners allowed per inning.
